Review of Quest: Finding Freddie
Fate took an ominous turn when Freddie (Frederick David Nachman, the president and CEO of Nachman International Trading Corporation) ventured to Lagos on a business endeavor, only to vanish without a trace. Ruth, his wife, consumed by anguish, turned to the trusted law firm that had long served their company, desperate for aid in locating her missing husband. The law firm sent the author of this book, Richard, on this mission. One of the competitors for the business Freddie went for was ITT Nigeria, headed by Moshood Abiola. Is Moshood Abiola involved in Freddie's disappearance? You will find out when you read Quest: Finding Freddie by Thomas Richard Spradlin.
The author described in detail the arrival process at the Lagos International Airport in Nigeria, and this was one of the things I loved about this book. He described how slipping "dash" to officials would make things go easy for you and how to act smartly to avoid being mugged by touts. Also, the success of Richard's encryption strategy for important numbers that he didn't want others to know demonstrated not only his quick thinking but also his commitment to protecting sensitive data. His innovative solution to a potential security risk showcased a keen understanding of the importance of information privacy in certain contexts.
I recommend this book to anyone who is studying history-related courses. The author combines Nigeria's historical narrative into the novel's plotline, imbuing the book with an authentic and immersive quality. The book was interesting to me because the fates of many, not just Freddie, were intertwined with the larger political forces shaping the country's destiny. Another aspect of this book that I appreciate is its professional editing. I have thought about it and can't find anything to dislike about Quest: Finding Freddie by Thomas Richard Spradlin. As a result, I am rating it 5 out of 5 stars.

It's good to have a main character who can believably navigate such complex circumstances.
I wonder how he balances these traits with the very real dangers he faces.
