Kalliope Barlis's "Play Golf Better Faster: This little book that is titled ‘The Little Golf Bag Book” should be on the shelf of any golfer who wants to make improvements on his or her performance. Built from Barlis’s sudden metamorphosis from a golf ignoramus to a bona fide athlete in just two years, her tips, tricks, and techniques will prove useful to the newcomer but equally valuable to the seasoned player. She has recently achieved a significant feat of six hole-in-ones in six months, and the manner in which she explains the technicalities of the game in this book is proof of a gifted teacher.

The book is divided into three parts: the part on using your brain, the part on practicing your game, and the part on playing your game. Barlis focuses on golf as a game of the mind; Moor teaches how to clear one’s mind of bad shots and how to fix the image of good ones. She has given a specific and practical approach to developing the right attitude to practice and better performances. The use of practical exercises and drills while rendering guidance makes it quite effective and straightforward.

It should be pointed out that one of the strengths of the book is its clear and uncluttered writing style. Barlis does not bring hundreds, if not thousands, of theories that would confuse readers but rather gives bare steps that can be followed from the comfort of one’s seat. Her writing style is interesting and inspiring, which helps the reader look at golf in the most constructive and concentrated manner. There are many helpful things, but the chapters on mental conditioning seem the most useful, proposing behaviors that can improve one’s life off the fairway.

Despite all that, it is easy to read and packed with practical tips, but at some moments, it may seem that the author overemphasizes the most evident things. Additional elaborations or information for those who would like to go deeper or for those golfers who have already played golf for several years may be useful and contribute to the creation of more benefits for the reader. Furthermore, it must be noted that, overall, the book is fairly free of typos and formatting errors; however, it could benefit from one or two more graphics or diagrams for clarification or reinforcement of certain ideas.

In conclusion, "Play golf better, faster." All in all, "The Little Golf Bag Book" has been acknowledged highly as a source of information for golfers of any playing experience. This book is written in a style where the advice is clear, to the point, and easy to put into practice for improving the player's game and having more fun at the same time. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars due to its originality, simplicity, and motivational themes.
