"Awakening…" by Jin Lan Cera is a non-fiction book that revolves around personal growth and spiritual development. Cera slowly recounts her transformation from atheist to believing in Buddhist teachings following the tragedy of her father. Throughout her journey, Cera explores the Law of Attraction and offers practical advice for readers to manifest their own dreams.

Initially, I approached "Awakening…" with the expectation that it would be just another self-discovery book. While I appreciate the stories these books have to share, they often become monotonous. However, "Awakening…" defied my expectations in the most profound way. Cera's journey through pain, loss, and the relentless search for meaning led her to uncover deep truths about herself and the universe. I found myself relating to many of her struggles, especially her experiences with her deteriorating father and her exploration of spirituality. I loved that Cera incorporated the Law of Attraction and the unity of all sentient beings into her journey. She articulated that each individual carried within them the essence of the universe, which was something I firmly believed in.

Another aspect of this book that left a lasting impression was its depth. Despite its brevity, "Awakening…" had a narrative that was surprisingly easy to follow. I appreciated the story's natural flow and seamless time jumps. Part three of this book also resonated with me. I found Cera's take on raising one's frequency particularly novel and intriguing. The idea that by aligning our personal vibration frequency with the frequencies of our aspirations, we could attract positive energies and opportunities added a fresh perspective to the traditional understanding of goal-setting. It suggested a harmonious relationship between our inner state and the external realities we seek to create.

All in all, "Awakening…" by Jin Lan Cera was an insightful read. Part three especially taught me many things about spirituality and spiritual well-being. As such, I felt compelled to give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I had no criticisms or dislikes about the narrative. Remarkably, this book contained no errors, which highlighted how meticulous the editing was. It also contained no profanity or explicit content.

While "Awakening…" had elements of spirituality and references to the Bible, it appeared to be more aligned with Buddhist teachings. It offered an in-depth analysis of essential Buddhist scriptures, such as the Shurangama Sutra and the Lotus Sutra, and core concepts inherent to Buddhism. The author's reflections on these teachings made the doctrines relatable, emphasizing the inclusive and adaptable nature of Buddhism.

I would recommend "Awakening…" by Jin Lan Cera to spiritual seekers and anyone interested in Eastern philosophy and compassionate living.
