[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Mind Over Matter Beyond Thoughts" by Shawni Marie.]
Mind Over Matter Beyond Thoughts by Shawni Marie revolves around CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and the way it helps people suffering from various mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, etc. It basically educates about various mental health illnesses, essential information about the illness, and CBT-based methods on how to alleviate the mental illness. Its central focus is to alter a person's thinking for improved outcomes. The book also looked into the influence of mindset on the physical body and the importance of self-love.
I have to commend Shawni Marie for this wonderful and insightful book about CBT. The way the author explained the principles and wonders of CBT was absolutely fascinating. The clarity of the writing made it a pleasure to read. I also love the way the author encouraged self-therapy and really pressed on gratitude journaling, which is a practice that builds self-love and positive thinking about oneself. My favorite real-life story was about Mary and Jason and how CBT helped keep their love for each other alive.
I would not only recommend this book to people struggling with unhealthy behaviors but also to people looking to improve their mental health and well-being, as well as personal growth, or anyone interested in gaining more insight about CBT. Whether you're already familiar with CBT or it's new to you, I truly believe you'll find a lot of value in reading this book. I really loved the detailed explanation of the various mental illnesses and their characteristics, with real-life stories of how CBT has helped and enhanced the personal growth of individuals. My favorite part of the book was the workbook element provided at the end of each chapter.
Mind Over Matter Beyond Thoughts by Shawni Marie deserves a solid 5 out of 5 stars because the way it was delivered gives a clear understanding of the wonders of CBT. The book was also exceptionally well-edited, and I disliked nothing about it.
