A large number of the population work their entire life to earn money so that they can retire peacefully. But they fail to plan on how to manage the money after retirement. 'Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life at Any Stage and Planning Ahead' by E. Alan Fleischauer is a non-fiction book for financial planning. The author is the founder of a financial advisory firm and has an academic background in finance, which adds to his credibility in leveraging his financial expertise. This book is a guide where the author simplifies the most complex monetary terms so that even a novice can understand them.

The book is made of 13 chapters, and each chapter is significant in planning for career and retirement. Alan starts off the book by explaining the importance of reconfiguring in life. He has followed the theme of life while writing the book. The progression of the book is similar to that of life. First, the author talks about finding the perfect career to earn money, then talks about various ways to invest and grow the money. Finally, Alan discusses how to plan what happens to the assets after your death. The various topics included in the book range from stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and social security to wills and trusts. The author's emphasis on income protection, strategic investment, and disciplined financial management provides practical takeaways that can help everyone.

One of the book's strengths, and the thing that I like the most about this book, is the integration of jokes throughout the book. This makes the book more engaging and enhances the overall reading experience. The writing style of the book is captivating and motivating. Alan provides personal stories, case studies, and real-world examples to back up his claims on various topics. The book is well-edited with no grammatical errors. I enjoyed every single part of this book and there's nothing that I hate about this book.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for its clarity, practicality, and engaging narrative. It is suited for people who are approaching retirement age but it is also beneficial for students and working professionals.
