Review of The Solution is Political Revolution
"The Solution is Political Revolution" by Jillion R. Rising is a compelling non-fiction work that explores the author’s perspective on the structural matters affecting America. According to him, Wall Street, the Federal Reserve, and the US government are all responsible for American poverty and the erosion of wealth. He advocates for a political revolution, which entails unity instead of violence and proactive initiatives addressing the economic difficulties of the nation. Furthermore, he investigates what he believes is a current system of government with a budget deficit and debt system that requires an overhaul to prevent an impending financial collapse.
The author discusses some significant events and policies, including the 2008 mortgage crisis, the role of the Federal Reserve, and the shift from the gold standard to the fiat currency system. Government decisions and corporate greed are both identified as the culprits behind these economic problems. However, despite this bleak diagnosis, he provides forward-looking remedies to forestall such a future. Fundamentally important here is his belief that Americans should find common ground beyond divisive politics and media stories so they can demand systemic changes or question existing systems in place.
In this book, the author presents his arguments without imposing his views, encouraging readers to think critically about the issues. He proposes several actionable measures, such as ending private lobbying, increasing government officials' pay to reduce corruption, and establishing a new political party focused on unity and logical governance. His emphasis on unity and collective action is a recurring theme, aiming to inspire Americans to work together for a brighter, more equitable future.
I love the part of the book where the writer talks about how Americans can come together as a united front and overcome the deep divisions caused by corrupt politicians and sensational media. He says that partisan politics is not what will make any changes occur, but it needs a joint effort to change this situation and demand good governance. This appeal to togetherness plus proactive civic engagement is inspiring as well as empowering, encouraging readers to see past their differences to work towards a shared goal of economic prosperity coupled with social welfare.
I give this book five out of five stars because it provides readers with a thought-provoking and well-reasoned analysis of some systemic problems facing America’s economy as well as governance. The book has perfect editing, and there is nothing I don’t like about it.
For those interested in the future of America’s economy and government, I would recommend this book. Also, policymakers, economists, political science students, and engaged citizens can read this book.
