Do you want to sharpen your sales skills? Do you want to be a top sales pro? If you are engaged in a sales career, you need this book. In How to Be a Superstar Salesperson, Audri White says, “... there are five key areas where technique and know-how are imperative.” White formulated the idea for this book to help train her husband’s sales team, and now it is within your reach.

White devotes a chapter to each of the five key areas. Included between some of the chapters are supplementary chapters that add extra tips. For example, think about possible objections and ways to handle them. This allows you to concentrate on listening during the meeting. The book includes examples of refusals the salesperson may encounter, and questions to ask or statements that may turn a prospect into a client.

White engages readers with a highly effective teaching tool, role playing. Several short scripts draw readers into vignettes in which they may practice the sales techniques White suggests. The author describes scenarios for several types of clients, and helps the readers understand which technique to use and how to use it.

I like the fact that White’s training is experience-based. Her writing is easy to read and follow. She makes effective use of bullet points to summarize key ideas. The formatting of the book is especially helpful, including the use of varied font sizes, font styles, and special indentations to emphasize essential information. Throughout the book, the narrative tone is conversational and inviting. It feels as if the reader is conversing with the author in a comfortable setting. Jaunty illustrations at the beginning of each chapter invite readers to relax and enjoy the text.

I found nothing about this book to dislike. It is expertly written and formatted. The book is exceptionally well-edited. Although the book includes vocabulary specific to sales, it is free of unnecessary jargon. It is suitable for all audiences. I recommend the book to readers who are interested in becoming effective salespersons. For all the reasons above, this book deserves 5 out of 5 stars.
