Here is an action guide to help weekend golfers turn pro in two years or less using NLP. Kalliope Barlis talks about how one could increase mental focus and elite performance in the golf sport. The book focuses on the quality practice, smart thinking, and mental strength required. The author takes you on a trip—from a novice golf player to a pro—sharing some valuable exercises and routines that you will find useful in order to improve every single facet of your game. Broadly, the book can be divided into three major segments: use of the brain, practice, and play. In every chapter, you will find practical tips and exercises. The major themes of this book are the power of the mind, smart practice, and the very mental part, which is crucial.

I like the fact that this is a very practical book with exercises that can be done immediately. The book is full of handy hints for both on- and off-course practice by golfers. For example, the home practice exercises may include feeling balanced, holding a club, and visualizing how successful shots should be. The best thing is how this book breaks down such exercises into really simple and easy steps. This makes it within the grasp of every golfer, be he a complete beginner or at a more advanced level.

Of special utility, I find it stresses quality practice rather than the quantum of practice. It's moving away from hitting hundreds of balls mindlessly to focused practice with clear intentions. It would surely save me time and turn out to be more effective in learning and improving. So, I really like how this book is going to make practicing golf much more rewarding and purposeful for me. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.

Personally, there is nothing in this book that I dislike. From the moment I started reading, I was amazed by its innovative approach and useful tips. Author Kalliope Barlis has woven mental strategies and practical tips really well, so it works as an all-in-one guide for any golfer at any level he or she might be at. There is another element of this work that makes it quite special—the personal touch given by the author. Yes, Barlis does share the journey from being just a weekend golfer to turning pro—truly inspirational. Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book is extremely organized, and thus, finding some tips or particular exercises is relatively easy. Anything from how one could practice at home to how to work on improving one's swing or how one is supposed to stay focused during a game—I just read the part that fits whatever aspect I want.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is practical, well- organized, and filled with lots of useful exercises that are immediately applicable. She merges very effectively mental strategies with how-to tips to create literally a one-stop shop for any golfer, whether one is a beginner or an expert. The personal touches and inspirational journey shared make this book stand out. This can be a very resourceful book for any budding or accomplished golfer who wants to improve the game with focused practice.
