Review of He Has Done Great Things
He Has Done Great Things by M. C. Garcia is a compelling narrative that follows her tumultuous life honestly and details Garcia's life experiences without filters, including moments of promiscuity and drug use, to convey the transformative power of Jesus Christ's message thoroughly. This nonfiction book describes a life marked by domestic abuse and near-death experiences. Despite all these traumatic events, Maria managed to be successful in her professional life and raise two children with an excellent education. Through candid storytelling, Garcia underscores how faith can provide meaning and direction, even in the darkest times.
What I liked most about this book is that the author gave details about her life without filters. There is a chapter where she says she was afraid to share her promiscuous sexual experiences and excessive drug use for fear of what her family would think. However, she did well not to omit anything. That is an essential part of the work, and the reader could not fully understand the transformative power that the message of Jesus Christ had in her life if she had decided to omit these "shameful" events. The photos are also decent and help readers understand the discussion's context better.
There is nothing I didn't like about this book. I like stories of people overcoming adversities and how faith can change and give meaning to the life of a lost sheep. As I follow the same religion as the author, the book's message resonates significantly with me. The book's editing is decent, and I found only two minor errors. Other than that, there is nothing I can recommend that could be done differently in future editions.
After reading the first few paragraphs, the reader realizes I liked He Has Done Great Things. The book is captivating, poignant, and remarkable. It is flawless and deserves 5 out of 5 stars. Both the content and editing are top-notch. There is no reason to deduct one star from the final score. The author can be proud of what she created because she couldn't have done anything better.
I recommend this book for Christians who want to see how the message of Jesus Christ can transform someone's life. People with problems, feeling an existential void, and looking for a spiritual answer may also like what is said here. The book contains some heavy themes, such as vague descriptions of rape, incest, and pedophilia. Therefore, anyone under 18 years of age should avoid it.
