It's important for one to know the political state of a country or region before traveling there. This is important because a person's nationality may be a problem in a politically unstable country. This is the case of Frederick David Nachman (Freddie), who was the president and CEO of Nachman International Trading Corporation (NITC). The situation of Nigeria's social and political state reveals deep-seated tensions among its primary ethnic groups, which are a result of the nation's rough past. These strains can be traced back to the Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Biafran War, which took place from 1967 to 1970. In the previous year, before Freddie's disappearance, there had been a coup in the country. According to the author, it was the wrong time for a man like Freddie to be in such a country. Because Ruth, Freddie's wife, was willing to do anything necessary to get her husband back, she contacted a law firm (Clifford & Warnke) to assist her. The firm then sent Richard on the mission.

I admired the way Richard planned and put together his affairs before he left for Nigeria, just in case anything happened. He even planned for his "untimely demise" in case that happened too. I also love the way the author narrates these events, describing his reactions and those of other people that he encountered. This goes to show that the author is a talented writer. I recommend Quest: Finding Freddie by Thomas Richard Spradlin to those who like reading books about politics.

The assignment of finding Freddie propelled Richard into a dangerous quest that tested his legal acumen, survival skills, and moral compass. In post-coup Nigeria, Richard tried to unravel Nachman's disappearance while contending with the ever-present threat of violence and corruption. There was nothing about this book that I disliked, and nothing needed improvement. Honestly, Quest: Finding Freddie by Thomas Richard Spradlin is perfect and deserves 5 out of 5 stars. It is also my pleasure to report that the book was professionally edited.

Ruth Nachman’s involvement in the search for her husband adds a deeply personal element to the story. Her resilience and unwavering hope in the face of overwhelming odds are inspiring. The book does an excellent job of portraying her as a strong, determined woman who refuses to give up, no matter what.

The historical context provided in the book not only enhances the narrative but also serves as a reminder of the political challenges of the time. The integration of Nigeria’s tumultuous political history adds depth and authenticity to the story, making it more than just a mystery, but a commentary on the era as well. great review

Spradlin’s ability to create suspense is one of the book’s standout features. Whether it’s the tension of the search or the unpredictability of the encounters with Nigerian officials, the book keeps you on edge throughout. The pacing is just right, with each chapter leaving you eager to find out what happens next.
