Title: I Am-The product of the mentally ill lonely monster-My journal

This is not an easy book to read. It's a heart-wrenching, painful and honest narrative of this poor woman's childhood and negatively impacted adulthood: a difficult read. At the heart of the book is a monster of a man, a dirty, racist, animal-abusing poor excuse for a human being who subjected his family to absolutely horrendous abuse, such as forcing them to drink his bodily excretions, administering electric shocks and physical and mental violence.

I admire her courage in sharing her experiences with all who would buy her book. Getting it 'out' has hopefully been therapeutic, rather like expelling poison from the body. I enjoyed how she writes in block paragraphs, rather like poetry. She certainly has writing talent, and I liked her line when talking about her life:

'Sharp-edged memories'

Interestingly, the longest line in the book, twice the length of all others, is on page 64, when she laments the passing of a meaningful friendship. This well-edited book will achieve a full five stars from me.

She was born in 1977 and has two brothers and a sister. Her mother was also from an abusive family. After her father died, the family began to heal very slowly. She went on to have a partner and multiple pregnancies. During the book, she doesn't mention anyone's name. She became very close to her mother.

She gradually improves mentally. At first, she finds life very difficult, but slowly, she progresses. She is suffering from post-traumatic stress, and her inner battles are terrible to read about.

I hope young people will read this book and assess potentially dangerous partners before committing their lives to them. The circle of abused children going on to abuse their children in time is a deplorable state of affairs. I would recommend this book for young adults and older. No graphic sex or profanity, to me, is a plus, and I found nothing to dislike.
