Before now, I used to think that books that teach sports would be boring and would only deal with boring streams of instructions. Well, this book changed my mind on that notion. Recognizing that golf presents a unique challenge, testing both physical and mental fortitude, Kalliope Barlis wrote Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book to provide a holistic guide on how to play it. The book contains invaluable tips for honing fundamental techniques like stance and optimized swing mechanics that would make one stand out in the game. The author also looked into the frequently overlooked psychological aspect of golf that I had never really thought about.

One of the reasons why I admire the author is the incorporation of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques. Barlis's decision to integrate these psychological strategies into golf instruction demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of the mental aspects of the game. NLP, known for its ability to rewire thought patterns and behaviours, is particularly well-suited to golf because it is a sport where mental grit often separates good players from great ones.

Barlis understands that cultivating laser-focused concentration, a positive mindset, and a deep reserve of perseverance in the face of adversity is just as crucial to achieving sustained excellence as mechanical prowess. To that end, she devotes considerable time to developing the mental toughness and conditioned mindset required to keep one's composure in order no matter the challenges one is facing while playing golf.

Whether you're an experienced golf player or you are still thinking of starting, I recommend Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book by Kalliope Barlis to you. It is simple to read, and in addition to golf, it will also help you put other aspects of your life together. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I disliked nothing about it, and it was professionally edited.

Barlis’ approach to using NLP in golf is truly innovative. By focusing on how mindset can impact your performance, she offers a new way of thinking about the game. This method is a refreshing departure from traditional golf practices, and I found it to be both practical and effective in enhancing my focus and concentration.

I was impressed by how Barlis connects the mental and physical aspects of golf. She shows that mastering your mindset is just as important as mastering your swing. This holistic approach has helped me see the game in a new light, and I’m excited to continue applying these principles to my practice.

The simplicity of the language used in the book made it an enjoyable read. Barlis explains everything in a way that’s easy to understand, making the content accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience level. This clarity helped me grasp the concepts quickly and start implementing them in my game right away.
