Golf is a very classy and amazing game. It's even better if you know how to play it, and best if you know how to play it and understand it well. If you want to know how to play golf, "Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" by Kalliope Barlis has a very unique approach to help you get better at playing it. It is a really innovative guide, and it combines the principles of "Neuro-Linguistic Programming" (NLP) with practical golf techniques to help everyone dramatically and sustainably improve their game. Even if you totally don't understand anything about golfing, you can smile because the book has been designed for golfers of all levels. It promises to "transform a weekend golfer into a pro within two years," and I bet you want to discover that yourself.

I appreciate the book's focus on the mental aspect of golf, which is often overlooked in traditional coaching methods. Barlis provides a range of NLP techniques that are both practical and easy to apply. For instance, its technique of the 15:5 practice method (15 minutes of focused practice followed by a 5-minute reflection period) can greatly maximize learning and improvement—and this mental reprogramming is not just theoretical; it is explained in a step-by-step manner that makes it accessible even to those unfamiliar with NLP.

The book also scores highly in its structured approach to practice. Barlis introduces the 15:5 practice method, where golfers practice with focused intention for 15 minutes followed by a 5-minute reflection period. This method ensures that practice sessions are productive and that golfers learn from each shot, whether good or bad. This reflective practice is a practical tip that can easily be incorporated into any golfer’s routine, making it highly applicable and beneficial.

Not many golf guidebooks can get as practical and real as this, and that's what makes this book so unique. Its focus on visualization and sensory enhancement is particularly helpful. Barlis constantly encourages readers to create vivid mental images of their desired shots and feel the motion of their swings. This technique will not only improve their golfing muscle memory but also boost their confidence and reduce performance anxiety as it will be easy to visualize the target in great detail before taking a shot.

The overall quality of the book is high, with clear explanations, practical exercises, and useful illustrations. I don't see anything to criticize about it, and it has been exceptionally well edited. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars because of these reasons. There is also an expanded version of this book that you can check out.
