The book The Move by O. K. Johnson (a.k.a. Speedy) is a non-fictional Christian book about a series of events that have happened in the author’s life and how they affected his faith. The author also used the procession of these events to share some life lessons about the Christian faith, lessons that God wanted him to experience.

When you hear the book’s title, “The Move,” don’t think of it as something figurative. The book actually tells the story of the author's relocation journey with his wife (Patti) from their home in Washington to an unrevealed location. Just like when God called Abraham to leave his hometown for a place where He would show the obedient man, God had also spoken to Johnson to leave the little homechurch he and his wife had built for the next-step destination. It might seem like such a simple story, but, believe me, the move was an intense, eventful, emotional, and lesson-filled journey.
I enjoyed the narration skills of the author. It was as if I were going through the same emotional chapters they faced, making the story highly relatable for me. There were times the couples’ faith was tested, and I was greatly impressed by their steadfastness. I mean, I personally would have begun to doubt at those moments, but reading how they gradually overcame their challenges has greatly advanced my faith.

I also appreciated how the author connected each situation to a passage in the Bible, showing me that the Bible is always a sufficient guide for whatever we face as Christians. I would also commend how the couples handled things with their house builder, especially at the end of the story; it was the most striking part for me.

Overall, I am rating the book five stars out of five.

There was nothing to dislike about the book; it was powerfully narrated, educational, thought-provoking, and well edited. My only grudge was that I was expecting a point of view from Patti but didn’t get it. However, it had nothing to do with my enjoyment of the book. The Move is a great example of walking the talk and a great asset to every Christian who might be facing any situation challenging their faith.
