Review of Snatched Up to Heaven!
Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul's "Snatched Up to Heaven!" is a thought-provoking and captivating book about their young daughters, Priyanka and Deepika, and their fantasies. When Priyanka was four years old and Deepika was just two, they each had vivid dreams about visiting heaven and hell. This book provides a detailed account of these dreams, illustrating how their experiences align with biblical descriptions of these afterlife realms.
The book begins with the authors recounting their daughters' dreams, providing an in-depth look at what Priyanka and Deepika saw and felt during these visions. Jemima and Arvind have included direct quotes from the children, along with their drawings and personal reflections. This inclusion of visual elements adds a personal touch and helps readers connect more deeply with the experiences described. They also discuss the differences between dreams and visions, using Biblical references to clarify these concepts, which helps make the book more accessible to readers unfamiliar with these terms.
One of the standout aspects of this book is how the authors link the children's experiences to Biblical teachings. Jemima Paul’s background in Christian education plays a crucial role here. Her ability to connect the children’s stories to Scripture adds depth and context to the book. The authors took great care in ensuring that their daughters’ accounts were presented accurately and respectfully, without twisting their words or intentions. This honest presentation enhances the book’s credibility and makes it a compelling read for those interested in spiritual matters.
Throughout the book, I found no errors, which indicates that it was excellently edited. The clean, error-free text allows readers to focus on the content without distractions. The book’s layout, which includes the children's drawings and personal testimonies, is well-organized and adds to the reading experience. There was nothing I did not like in this book.
Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5 because it stands out for its honest portrayal of children's dreams, its thorough analysis of biblical connections, and its careful editing. It is an excellent read for anyone interested in understanding spiritual experiences from a child’s perspective and how these fit with Biblical teachings. I recommend this book to every young person interested in Christian literature.
