In this book, we see a North Carolina couple go through a difficult marriage where the love has withered and the affair doesn't look like it will survive. Vernon discovers that his wife has been cheating with her gynecologist, Dr. James Ewing, and that their estrangement in marriage was never his fault. The book details how he connived to keep his children's custody, which, of course, is the right thing to do. This book will make you riot for the author every step of the way, and you will find true human nature present in this narrative. Read Deceit: A True Story of Domestic Infidelity and Betrayal with Salacious Details Recorded by Wiretap by Vernon Baumrind to discover details about Linda's infidelity and also find out whether Vernon gets to keep custody or not.

There's a lot of fun in this book. The way the author provides a narrative is mature, and I like how he can write some good things about his wife Linda. It shows that he truly loved her. Nobody is a monster from day one, and every bad person has a turning point. I enjoyed how he made a minor analysis of why he thinks that she cheated. He got to see things from her angle and understood her plight; however, it doesn't justify adultery in any way.

There is nothing that I can criticize about this book because the entire narrative is perfectly executed. The author has told a real-life story that not only entertains but also educates. In terms of grammatical errors, this book has none because it has been perfectly edited.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for the way the author tells his story. He writes maturely, and such a style deserves perfect ratings. I couldn't find anything to hate in the book, and that is another solid reason why it deserves this rating. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books about nonfiction.
