There is a pattern in politics, and the only way we can map out this pattern is if we follow the news closely. In 2022, England had three prime ministers. Liz Truss's resignation came as a shock to me, and I didn't understand why, but this book offered me insights into why. In general, the book chronicles the major events of 2022, and each day of the year has something to write about. From January 20th to the end of the year, the author writes something from the news. Most of them were major events that summed up that day, and they all ranged from political tensions to monarchical events, etc. The news covered top countries like the UK, Ukraine, Russia, the USA, etc.

There's so much to like about In Plain Sight: 2022 by Susan Mallett. It does a summary of the year 2022 adequately. I liked the author's diction, as it didn't seem as sophisticated as the news. Usually, the reason I am not a fan of news is because of the advanced diction of the reporters. This author made me understand what went on in the world throughout the year 2022, and I was entertained a lot by the politics. Another thing that stands out in this book is that it is flawlessly edited. The author takes her time to ensure that her work is proofread, and her attention to detail is why she stands out as an author.

In terms of dislikes, I found nothing disconcerting about the book; the whole idea behind its existence appeals to me. Perhaps I could keep my journal on each day of the year and turn it into a book, and who knows, people might buy it. This book captures the year 2022 for what it is, and although it does not start the year on January 1st, the book still covers the major key events of the year. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars for these reasons, and it deserves this rating because, as mentioned earlier, I found nothing disconcerting about it. I recommend it to anyone who wants a throwback to the year 2022.
