There is a deceitful nature in man, whether in a good way or in a bad way. This book shows the determined nature of a couple toward themselves. On one hand, Linda is cheating with her husband, and on the other, Vernon is secretly recording her and trying to get evidence so he can gain custody of their children. This couple has been estranged in marriage, but mainly due to Linda's fault. To Vernon's surprise, Linda is cheating with her doctor, and this makes the whole situation more irritating because he is her gynecologist. Vernon decides to quietly gather proof of her affair so he can gain custody of his kids when push comes to shove. 

There's so much to enjoy about Deceit: A True Story of Domestic Infidelity and Betrayal with Salacious Details Recorded by Wiretap by Vernon Baumrind I found value in how the author describes his ordeals with Linda. There are details that depict true human nature amidst crises. I also like how he delves into the ethical aspects of invading her privacy. I was glad to see that this author understands what is legal or not. He even hired private investigators to dig into his wife, as a professional approach would be best in such situations. A great positive about this book is that I could not pick out a single grammatical error while I read it, which indicates that the book is exceptionally well edited. 

There is nothing to criticize about Deceit: A True Story of Domestic Infidelity and Betrayal with Salacious Details Recorded by Wiretap, and the entire narrative is appealing. The book offers everyone a thing or two to learn about divorce. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for these reasons, and I recommend it to people who enjoy real-life narratives on infidelity.
