Trekking: A Guidebook for Spiritual Transformation by Gene Maynard is an intriguing navigational book to encourage the reader into a deeper more personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The author does a terrific job keeping you engaged, as he discusses how the Quaker movement began and the changes throughout our History that have been brought forth, for the good of mankind, through the leading of The Holy Spirit. There is a flow in the way it is written with interesting stories provided and backed up with scripture, which in any Christian Nonfiction Literature is a must have.

You will be taken on a journey to examine your own life, your thoughts, motives, and the purpose of it all. The author gives you practical application on how to journey into a destination in your spiritual walk that you never thought possible, a deep and richer communion with God. The time you choose to follow the Living God and your pursuit of His presence, will change your desires from a worldview to a Christview. This book is also very relevant for our culture and the time we are living in, post covid and coming up on the heels of a new election.

From this book, I have grown in my desire to journey deeper into the knowledge and quietness of a heart set on Jesus. Knowing that He will always want a closer connection with me, but I have to choose to step away from distractions and keep my heart/mind set on Him.

There was nothing that I disliked about this book, it is very educational and opens your eyes to the endless possibilities of a life surrendered to Christ. I only noticed one typo, but it may be due to the book being read on a kindle. In conclusion, I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
