Despite the recent changes in society today, women still face a lot of challenges in navigating through their leadership journey and professional growth. Empowering Women Leaders: A Guide to Thriving in Career and Life by Kelly Todd offers practical and valuable insights to guide women in drawing out their transformative capabilities in their professional lives while emphasizing the relevance of work-life balance.

One of the many standouts for me in this book was the structure of the book. It started with the introduction, which gave a brief but wholesome summary of what the book entails as well as clarifying the category of audience the book is meant for. Each chapter starts with a summary of what the chapter will dwell on, and each of them ends up with expectations for the next.

More so, the book is a complete guide that offers a holistic approach to breaking into leadership positions, fulfilling career aspirations, and aligning professional goals with personal goals to achieve balance in overall well-being. It started with understanding the dynamics of leadership and identifying leadership styles that are best suited for different business goals. It identifies the hindrances that prevent women leaders from maximizing their potential and creating an impact in society. They include, but are not limited to, imposter syndrome, discrimination, and limited access to mentorship and sponsorship. In an attempt to equip women with all they need to become trailblazers breaking through their barriers, Kelly also gives practical solutions to these problems in addition to expounding on crucial skills needed to stay ahead of the restraints. Confidence, continuous learning and development, emotional intelligence, and networking are all important skills needed to navigate through the professional world, especially for women as they face more limitations.

There is nothing negative about this book. It was exceptionally well edited. I could not find any grammatical errors. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. This is because aside from the positive aspects I mentioned, I appreciated the way the author encouraged women to embrace the unique traits they possess and how to integrate them into their professional endeavors. One of these unique traits is empathy. I recommend this book to women who hope to lead one day or are already holding leadership positions.
