Ruth Ready by Kitty Arceneaux is a self-improvement book that draws from the biblical story of Ruth and Boaz. The author delves into the realities of marriage and relationships, exploring humility, submission, companionship, forgiveness, and more. The author poses thought-provoking questions and scenarios that trigger conversations regarding the discussed topics. The author explores the concept of marriage from a biblical perspective, inspiring the reader to read the Bible to gain an in-depth understanding of this topic. Additionally, Kitty demystifies various myths and misconceptions about marriage, equipping those preparing for marriage with the right attitudes and mentalities. So, what does it mean to be 'Ruth-ready?' What makes Ruth's story so unique to inspire the pages of this book? I invite you to find out.

The author initiates the pages of this book with the captivating story of a biblical character named Ruth. Although this story is familiar to Christians, the author's exceptional storytelling skills give you a sensation akin to reading this story for the first time. She narrates this story while highlighting the unique characteristics of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz. You will look into the tragedy that befell the three women, depicting their unwavering resilience, loyalty, friendship, and love towards each other. Kitty proceeds step-by-step, allowing the reader to digest the lessons within this timeless and heartwarming story. Each character is crafted uniquely, allowing us to know them independently and relate to their stories. I like how she draws logical comparisons and differences between events in the Bible and the realities of our relationships today. My favorite character is Naomi, who offers leadership, mentorship, companionship, and love to her two daughters-in-law.

This book's uniqueness lies in its practical and engaging nature. First, the author guides the reader on how to identify the right qualities of a partner. She emphasizes that a partner's ability to provide, protect, honor, and love should not be overlooked. Additionally, you will learn how to pray and petition for the right partner. Second, the author allows us to reflect on our strengths and weaknesses with thought-provoking questions that trigger the desire to learn more. You will realize that we all carry expectations and beliefs when it comes to marriage and romantic relationships. Kitty draws from her experiences in marriage to explain the significance of patience, forgiveness, adjustment, and compatibility in any relationship. Moreover, she walks us through the agonies of betrayal, infidelity, and other negative aspects of marriage. The inclusion of testimonials from other married women from different places adds diversity and authenticity to this book.

There are several things I like about this book. I appreciate the author's ability to quote and explain different biblical verses without altering their original meanings and messages. Additionally, the inclusion of reference materials such as websites allows further reading independently. Lastly, the book's concise nature encouraged me to read it multiple times. There is nothing I dislike about this book to deny it a perfect rating.

The editing team did a commendable job; I encountered no errors while reading. I hereby rate this book five out of five stars because of the likes mentioned above. I recommend it to married women and those people preparing for marriage.
