Review of Snatched Up to Heaven!
Snatched up to Heaven by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul is a Christian book about the dream of Priyanka and Deepika, who were taken to Heaven by angels. This dream narrates their experience in Heaven, the things they saw there, and many more. The authors also use scriptural passages to explain the dream. The authors separated the dream into points and extensively discussed each point, using Bible passages as a foundation for each explanation. Where they discussed the topic "What was heaven like?" we could see Bible passages that tallied with what the girls described.
When I picked up this book to read and found out what it was about, my interest was immediately piqued because I am familiar with how unique children's dreams can be. Most people tend to overlook them, but there are Bible passages about their angels and their positions regarding the heavenly hierarchy. As I read along, I discovered this was not an ordinary dream. This book stood as a beacon of hope for me. Sometimes, the world feels really overwhelming, and we need a more beautiful place in our minds to hide until we are okay to face the world again. Some people read fantasy books to escape reality; however, reading this book about how beautiful Heaven is and how pleasurable life is up there inspires hope in me. It gave me the escape I yearned for. I loved how the authors did not claim to know it all by overexplaining; instead, while elaborating on something, you would see some questions like, "Could it also be true that God and Jesus were the same age and height, as the kids shared?" and right after those kinds of questions, the authors use a Bible passage to show rather than tell us the possible answer to that question.
I do not have any negative feelings towards this book. I feel like it was well-written and not made up. I only found minimal errors that did not disrupt my reading experience. There are truths that are known in history, and I was pleased to see that the dream also contained those truths. I give this book a perfect five out of five-star rating. It is a Christian book, so it is recommended mainly for believers in the Christian faith. However, if you are curious about this dream and how well the authors explained it, pick up this book and read it.
