Quest: Finding Freddie by Thomas Richard Spradlin is a narration of the period of the heartbreaking coup in Nigeria. It witnessed the famous but ingenious assassination of General Murtala Muhammed and the event of the Israeli rescue mission. During that period, Nigeria was thrown into massive tension as different groups suffered deep injuries as a result of the assassination. The author, Richard Spradlin, a lawyer at the law firm that represents the Nachman International Trading Corporation (NITC), was saddled with the responsibility of finding Frederick David Nachman, the president of NITC, who was on a business trip in Nigeria before the catastrophic event. He was declared missing, and the efforts of both countries, the US and Sweden, proved abortive due to some limitations. The only available savior is Richard. What will be his fate?

With the support of the members of his law firm, Richard accepted to undergo the unforgettable mission of his life. He contacted his friend in Nigeria as he began preparation for an uncertain future. Owing to the rescue by the Israel Defense Forces of some hostages held by terrorists at the Entebbe airport in Uganda, and the position of the president of Uganda, Idi Amin Dada Oumee, as the president of the then Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and the immense influence he exacts in the whole of Africa. The mission seemed impossible and entwined. How will he complete the mission? Did he survive? Readers will find out in the book.

The book is descriptive. The author has an eye for detail as he narrates the event with cheer and precision. Richard also includes details of the traditional foods, clothes, and tribes in the narration. The book is adventurous. The writing style is unique. It handles complex issues in an easygoing manner. It kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the reading, always expecting the most horrifying happening but praying for safety. The twists and turns in the book are a remarkable feature: you can predict the next happening. At some point, I left the book and searched historical material to find out the fate of Richard before I continued; It is that interesting.

I appreciate the active, recollective mind of the author and the ability to keep documents and journals about his life, as it helps in the qualitative development of the events in the book. I admire the vivid representation of historical events and the educational tone of the book. It encourages the readers to grasp all the information in the book. Appreciatively, the description of the characters enhanced my enjoyment of the book.

Quest: Finding Freddie by Thomas Richard Spradlin is a unique historical narration. Reading it filled me with amazement. It has no negative aspect. I enjoyed every part of the book without a single dislike. I would give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Readers keen on good historical books will love it. It is a good book for leisure.
