Review of The Solution is Political Revolution
“The Solution is Political Revolution” by Jillion R. Rising is a non-fiction work that challenges the status quo of American politics and economics in a provocative and thought-provoking manner. Wall Street, the Federal Reserve, and the U.S. government are all targeted by the author, who argues that these institutions have together eroded the wealth and prosperity of ordinary Americans. Rising calls for political revolution—though not violent ones but rather a united citizenry demanding change. The book urges unity among Americans, asking them to look beyond political party lines that divide citizens and identify systemic threats to their future.
Rising’s book discusses such significant features as the 2008 mortgage crisis as well as the conversion from the Gold Standard into a fiat money system that have shaped the current state of affairs in the US economy. Despite the grim picture painted, Rising offers solutions that he believes could avert the looming economic disaster. These include the formation of another political party called the Logician Party through a true democracy referendum to curb lobbyist influence as well as promote innovation and private sector job creation.
The book is very well constructed and compelling; it is also utterly radical yet essential in its demand for action among American citizens. There is nothing I dislike about the book. It is perfectly edited.
My favourite chapter in this book discusses adopting referendums for true democracy. By suggesting that important policies or laws be directly put in the hands of every citizen through voting, he boldly envisions an America that will be empowered to have a say in what their lives are turned into. The idea of giving back power to people and ensuring every voice is considered equally seemed like such a profound and necessary move towards a more just society for all.
I would rate this book at 5 out of 5 stars; it is daringly insightful regarding systemic problems in the US, and it calls for a political revolution based on unity and genuine democracy. The author doesn't just highlight problems; he offers practical solutions, encouraging readers to question the status quo and take action.
I highly recommend this book to politically engaged citizens, policymakers, and anyone concerned with the future of American democracy.
