"Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" is filled with insights and practicality for both beginning and accomplished golfers. Authored by Kalliope Barlis, the book ensures that readers have a holistic way to learn the game by integrating the mental, physical, and technical aspects often dismissed by traditional golf instruction. It serves almost like a step-by-step guide on the mechanics of golf and how one can develop their game in a more focused and strategic way.

The opening part of the book, where Barlis introduces the basics of NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, stands out as perhaps the most valuable resource any golfer can have. What really impressed me was the idea that our thoughts and perceptions manifest as the experiences we have on the course. Barlis instructs readers to imagine perfect shots and to anchor those results with positive thoughts, making the often overlooked psychological elements of the game a central part of her message for improvement. The notion that "you are the universe" and that our mental state can have a dominating influence on our performance is both empowering and liberating; it opens new avenues for how one can approach the game.

An additional strength of the book is how it reinforces the importance of staying in the moment and not allowing past mistakes to affect future performance. According to Barlis, golf is as much a game of the mind as it is of the body. This approach to mindfulness on the course is where some of the most valuable lessons in the book are found—offering practical advice for staying composed and focused during a round. The focus on the mental element is a refreshing approach that most golf guides miss, making it a particularly special part of this book.

Despite being packed with valuable insights, one area I found somewhat lacking in the book was its in-depth discussion of advanced techniques. While the basics are thoroughly covered, those looking for more advanced strategies may find the content a bit limited. However, the book is excellently edited. Moreover, the content flows well, and the lessons are structured in a clear manner.

I rate Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book a perfect 5-star as I ultimately loved every element of the book. Full of practical tips and insightful lessons, it is an absolute must-read for anyone passionate about golf and eager to elevate their game.
