"Quest: Finding Freddie" by Thomas Richard Spradlin is a gripping true story based on a case the author worked on. The book takes readers on a thrilling adventure with vivid descriptions and emotions. The story follows Richard Spradlin, a detective hired by Ruth Nachman to find her missing husband, the CEO of Nachman International Trading Corporation. Freddie vanished after a short walk from his hotel, and the book follows Spradlin's perilous journey as he faces obstacles and uses his skills to uncover the truth behind Freddie's disappearance.

The book focuses on Freddie's disappearance in Lagos, Nigeria, on August 14, 1976. This happened during a time of great turmoil with a recent attempt to overthrow the government and the murder of General Murtala Muhammed. These events made the search even more difficult and dangerous. Despite being a stranger in Nigeria, Richard Spradlin showed great skill and determination by building a team of local experts to help him search for Freddie.

I really enjoyed how Richard knew who to talk to and did everything he could to find Freddie. The book has a great mix of suspense and adventure that keeps you wanting more. You'll be on the edge of your seat as Richard faces many dangers and obstacles in his search. The story is full of unexpected twists and turns that keep it moving at a fast pace. It's a thrilling book that's hard to put down because the author does a great job of keeping your attention. I didn't find anything I didn't like about the book, and I was also impressed by how the characters grow and develop throughout the story.

I really enjoyed reading this book, and I'd give it a perfect 5 out of 5 stars because it is packed with interesting information and insights into Nigeria's politics and culture during a time of great upheaval. The author's storytelling is so vivid that you feel like you're right there with him, searching for Freddie. The combination of culture, history, and personal story makes this book a must-read, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves history, especially those interested in military governments and coups.
