The book “Thriving in Storms” by Bill Murphy is simply a true masterpiece. An inspiring and empowering book. From the first page to the closing chapter the author got me hooked on every word until the end. This book brings the concept of adversity and navigating adversity to a whole new level. There is a lot of insightful, and valuable information being shared. The author explains each practical step in detail on how to build resilience, make a mindset shift, maintain control, and use the resources available to you at hand in order to succeed and build a life worth living no matter what gets in the way and most of all thrive while doing it.
One of the most important and impactful aspects of the book is the 9 key principles and 21 mental exercises Murphy shares that contributed to his success. An ordinary individual who managed to overcome a turbulent past and many life-challenging moments, from traumatic childhood, abuse, and mental health challenges to unexpected life situations.
While describing each experience the author demonstrates a high level of self-awareness that would act as a true inspiration to anyone who would like to apply these exercises to self-reflect on their own childhood and life experiences as well as enable them to overcome any deep insecurities or self-doubt that may have conditioned your mind and how to shift that back to a more positive mindset to purse high success life goals.
The author’s personalized writing style is engaging and conversational which makes the book such an easy and enjoyable read and allows the reader to follow along with his every word and live his every experience with him. The narrative writing is clear and coherent throughout the book which allows you to feel the emotional depth of the experience conveyed.
My favorite part of the book was where the authors showcased his limitless pursuit of thriving for more and that no matter what the external circumstances are, you can live and overcome any challenges that come your way, by constantly creating a better version of himself and giving back to other along the way.
This book is such an inspiration on how to defy the odds and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in understanding how to overcome adversity in any shape or form and at the same bettering their life and aiming for a brighter future. Thriving in Storms is the book that shows you that there is indeed a silver lining to be found in any situation. Truly a must-read!
