The authors of “DR CELL Lecture-notes on Professionalism and Medical Ethics” are Randa Zaki A M Khair, MD, associate professor of surgery at the University of Khartoum, who has written two other books on medical content, MohamedToum Musa M Ibrahim, MD, Professor of Surgery, University of Khartoum, who has also written two other medical books and over 20 local scientific articles, and El-Numan Mohamed A Malik, MD, who is an associate professor of anesthesia, University of Khartoum. Fourteen contributors were enlisted to take part in various topics within the book. Expert staff members from the University of Khartoum's Faculty of Medicine and one from the Faculty of Law comprise all contributions.

The abbreviation DR CELL stands for duties, rights, good communication, ethics, awareness of one's limitations, and lifelong learning. This book responds to public concerns about the increased attention being paid to medical ethics. It explores the numerous oaths and codes of conduct, as well as the professional standards that are expected of doctors. This book explores the updated medical ethics curriculum, which has just recently been added to medical school curricula. Case studies that DR CELL was applied to and analyzed were included in each section. The readers received a comprehensive analysis and explanation of the case studies. The reader could examine response hints for the case scenarios. This is an easy-to-understand book, even if you don't have an MD to your name.

I valued the writers' attention to the distinction between morality and ethics for practitioners. This served as a unifying theme for the readers across the entire book. My favorite aspect of the book was its consistency.

The book contained numerous editing mistakes. I had to pause it occasionally to allow the author's words to fully register because it was distracting. This detracted from the book and the reading experience. I think the book would be a flawless 5/5 if the mistakes were fixed, but for now I have to give it a 3/5. The book's premise was spot-on, its case studies were outstanding, and its material was crucial reading for anybody working in the medical field. I greatly appreciate the effort put forth by all of the authors and collaborators of this book for their hard work.

The content of the book from the way you described it sounds interesting. I've always wondered how doctors put aside the morality and ethics of their jobs. It may be a good read for me when it's edited of course.
