In Nigeria, after a coup that led to the deposition of General Yakubu Gowon on July 29, 1975, General Murtala Muhammed was selected to succeed him. General Murtala Muhammed was, in turn, assassinated on February 13, 1996. It was this same year that Freddie went missing in Lagos, Nigeria. Frederick David Nachman (Freddie) was the president and CEO of Nachman International Trading Corporation (NITC). The government of his country and that of the United States did not want to get involved in his case. This led his wife, Ruth, to seek the help of a law firm that they were working with. Richard was then asked by this law firm to go search for Freddie because he himself had recently returned from Lagos. In the midst of this political tension, will Richard find Freddie? I loved how smart Richard acted during the whole mission of finding Freddie. I was impressed by how he adopted a code to write important numbers on his ticket so that no one would know what was actually written. Apart from Richard, I also came to love some of the people he worked with while in Nigeria, for instance, Chima Onuwa. This book showed me how disciplined people uphold their code of honour in dealing with other people.

I love that this book blends suspense, intrigue, and cultural complexity into an unforgettable literary experience. The author's storytelling prowess takes center stage, inviting me to immerse myself in a world where every twist and turn holds the promise of startling revelations. Furthermore, the succinct yet informative footnotes that the author added helped me to understand the story more. Honestly, there was nothing I disliked about this book, which is why I am excited to rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The book was professionally edited, and I recommend it to history enthusiasts.
