Leadership is a daunting endeavor. Whether in political or professional settings, a leader is usually a picture of fierceness and charisma. Which is why a common narrative peddled in this misogynistic society is that women can never be leaders; they're too emotional. But what if, to create real change, an emotional or emotionally intelligent female leader is exactly what we need? In Winning at Leading - Women in Leadership, Ronica Watkins, Ph.D., encourages aspiring female leaders to take the helm. The book serves as a powerful non-fiction book that delves into the essence of female leadership and empowers women to embrace their leadership potential. It is a valuable resource that aims to demystify and revolutionize the role of an effective leader.

I find this book intelligent and empowering. What I find most pleasant about this book is the way it revolutionizes the traditional notion of a leader. It brings the concept of leadership into a more positive light, something that should help you approach challenges better and create a more positive impact on others. The author frames leadership as more of a mindset and less of a position of power, making the concept more accessible and less daunting. I also appreciate the feminist undertones. The author highlights the real-world impact of having women as decision-makers as well as the challenges faced by female leaders, especially as part of the workforce.

The book is an empowering and comprehensive discussion on female leadership. It covers so many nuances and also offers practical and step-by-step solutions that readers can follow. I enjoyed reading the book in its entirety, and I do not have any negative criticism to speak of. I find the author's insights inspiring, and I hope aspiring female leaders in their respective careers will pick up this book because, true enough, we need more empathetic and nurturing leaders in this society. Considering all its merits, the book earns 5 out of 5 stars. It is flawlessly edited.
