When I picked this book, I expected to gain wisdom about marriage. I was not disappointed. The book explores topics such as the design of marriage, sensuality, submission, and finances, among others. The book incorporates biblical references, and this was one of the reasons why I loved the book.

One of my favorite topics was submission. I love that the author did not shy away from discussing the topic. Submission helps marriage flow easily. Furthermore, submission is not for one partner. Each must submit at different levels. Submission is a contentious issue in many marriages today. However, the author explains the rationale behind this aspect profoundly.

Another noteworthy topic was finances. Financial discipline is an area that most, if not all, couples struggle with. What happens when one marries a partner who is poor at managing finances? Does the better manager stash away money and hide from their spouse? What is the way forward when it comes to this issue? The book discusses this in detail. The other hot topic was about family. Getting married to your partner entails marrying their family.

The author’s writing style is witty. I loved that it was easy to follow the flow of ideas in the book. The tone was a happy one. Due to all the reasons listed above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The only thing I did not like about the book was the Ruth reference. I thought she was the one who chose to follow Naomi. I believe Orpah fits the reference better as she was the one who turned away. I missed the point in there. Otherwise, everything else was perfect.

I recommend this book to anyone aspiring to get married. Those already married will also enjoy reading this book. This book is best suited for couples who want to lead a life according to the Bible.
