Why Me? by Ashley M Polidore is a nonfiction book that delves into the complex journey of a woman's life through personal experiences. Polidore candidly shares her encounters with love, problems with money, and motherhood in a relatable and inspiring narrative. The book aims to empower women by embracing their past choices without shame, encouraging growth and self-improvement. Polidore's storytelling resonates with those seeking authenticity and understanding, making them feel connected and understood.

What I liked most about this book was that the author didn't try to hide any facts or "embarrassing situations" from the past. She told everything, including moments when she was naive and believed in men who had already cheated on her several times. The mistakes made, and some behavioral patterns of some male archetypes can help many women who have been through or are going through similar situations. That seems to have been the author's intention when writing this work.

Although the author's story is interesting, she doesn't seem to have learned anything from her mistakes. Not only does Ashley not comment on what she did wrong and what she learned after going through several embarrassing situations, but she also seems to repeat the same behaviors time after time. The book lacked a greater self-criticism from the author, and it was as if she felt that just telling what happened in her life was interesting enough. That's what I thought not only because of the title but also because of how she concluded the book, and it made me believe that she attributed the situations that happened to her to bad luck. Even though the book's purpose is to empower women and make them accept their past without guilt, both men and women should learn from their mistakes. I did not find that in this work. That was what I liked least.

Why Me? by Ashley M Polidore is an exciting book about a young woman who has had a hectic life. The book's flawless editing (I couldn't find one single grammatical error) assures the reader of its quality. Still, the problem mentioned above is relevant, so I deducted one point from the final score. Therefore, I rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is recommended for modern women who want to understand that sometimes things don't go as planned. Please note that saying that the book is "for women" is not sexist on my part. Although I am a man and enjoyed reading this book, the author herself makes it clear from the beginning who her target audience is. Since there are many profane words, this book is not recommended for minors.

I agree it’s your conclusion about the author. Many books of this type are written by those who think that life “just happens” to them and they choose to take no responsibility for their actions or the outcome. Thanks!

I love this kind of book, reading from the author perspective will be great to do, women face struggles and not everyone knows about them.

It's an interesting book, one could learn a lot from the author's experience. I also share the opinion of the reviewer. A well-known saying comes to mind: "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". Yes, as human being we encounter bad and mean people who end up hurting us; but we need to learn from experience as well and we need to take responsibility for our choices. Thank you for the honest review.
