The first thought I got after I just started reading Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer was that it was solely for Americans; it might not be applicable to me, but after a few pages this book proved me wrong. It's all about reconfiguring life regardless of age, place, sex, etc. In the book, the author mainly narrates through the point of view of Americans, but the core ideas and methods are legit and applicable for everyone. I assure you that it isn't filled with financial jargon and boring wisdom for old people.

The book touches on many aspects of life after retirement. It also promotes self-evaluation through different methods and tests. The author proved himself to be a great financial advisor by giving incredible information on various topics such as retirement planning, social security, health insurance, employment benefits, career, self-care, management, etc. This book is a must-read to aid in a well-planned retirement life. The author also debunks various social myths and explains clearly their realities. The book has many statistical data supporting the content. It also provides a really immersive reading experience.

I really enjoyed and felt that this work is appreciable for its simple vocabulary, disintegration of complex topics into simpler ones, its easy comprehensiveness, and the various personality tests and websites to help ourselves. The humorous narration of the author helped me read incredibly fast without feeling bored. The combination of facts, logic, strategies, and humour made this book experience really enjoyable. The only suggestion I felt was that it would be better if the author could write from a more generalised point of view rather than just for Americans because it may deter a lot of other potential readers.

I rate this book 5 out of 5. I didn't find any major negatives to be pointed out. It's well written and well edited with no errors. This book can be read by anyone, irrespective of age. It's beneficial to anyone who is interested in planning a good relaxed retirement life.

I'm not an American, but this book opened my eyes to thinking about the future, and I will definitely use this book as a reference, especially for financial and other life advice.
