I was glad to have read The Small Stock Trader by Mika. The book starts by mentioning the traits of a stock trader, such as perseverance, passion, uniqueness, independent thinking, practice, risk management, courage to take calculated risks, discipline, patience, timing, flexibility, open-mindedness, humility, learning from your mistakes, and from a good teacher, among the many other traits listed. The author then further explained these traits in relation to stock trading. Throughout the book, the author quotes words from people of wisdom, such as the quote from Adam Smith, who said, "The stock market is like a beautiful woman—endlessly fascinating, endlessly complex, always changing, always mystifying." I loved reading this book. When the author mentioned "The Zone," I felt really elated because I was familiar with that term. To learn more about this book, grab a copy of it and read it.

I loved that while the author addressed any topic he wasn't quite familiar with, he mentioned the things he had actually tried, like when he talked about martial arts, he said, "I admittedly know very little about sports. Wing Chun kung fu and poker are the only things I have practiced for about one thousand hours each in my whole life." Here, he discussed psychological health, and he needed to talk about martial arts as it is one of the sports that is good for our psychological health as it increases self-knowledge and self-control. There are a lot of things learned from this book. As someone who has dabbled into trading here and there, I could perfectly understand what the author talked about in his book. I feel like this book has helped me find the resources that will help me further develop my mind. The author mentioned that playing poker will teach you about yourself, and I will try that out. This book really provides a wealth of knowledge. The author even discussed company growth while talking about stock trading. While reading the introduction, the author mentioned that the definitions of some basic knowledge in trading, such as stop loss, short selling, etc., will not be found in this book as they are readily found online, and I think that made the book even more useful because readers, instead of meeting the explanations of these terms they can find online, are instead introduced to those terms that, even if found online, would not be exhaustively explained. This is excellent, considering that the readers are given knowledge of what really matters rather than random trading terms.

I do not hate any aspect of this book. I was surprised to find that luck plays a role in trading. This is a fact that many traders dispute, crediting it all to knowledge and experience. This book fully deserves a perfect five out of five stars because it contains very detailed information that will benefit not only traders but everyone at large. Even if you have no interest in trading, the part about psychology will most definitely benefit you. The book was also finely edited, as the minor errors found did not disturb my reading experience.
