"A Dream for Peace" is an interesting book with legit and true information. I had to do some research to confirm some of the information in the book. Dr. Berrah narrates how he fought for the freedom of Algeria and also provided peace around the globe. Dr. Berrah, in his early years, knew that his nation could not prosper under colonialism's policy. Nonetheless, his devotion to nonviolence was diluted by a desire to be free, and consequently, he wrestled French colonization with pen and sword. The book gives a step-by-step account of Berrah from his student days when he was awarded a scholarship to study medicine at the University of Bordeaux. There, he turned into an activist, speaking against racism and injustice. He, alongside other Algerian students, started the North African Muslim Students Association, thus fully involving him in the struggle for independence.

Indeed, one of the most interesting aspects of the book is a change from freedom fighter to diplomat in the position of Dr. Berrah. His efforts to find a middle ground between the two warring nations were a way of making him a friend to President Houphouët-Boigny of Côte d’Ivoire. This book depicts his efforts in diplomatic missions, such as when he was in the middle of an attempt at trying to negotiate a peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians, at the same time arrogating to himself the role of the world’s savior. Dr. Berrah expresses his views on religion and tolerance. He was a very religious person, and every time it pertained to other religions or people of other creeds, he was tolerant and also advocated for respect and understanding among different faiths.

This book was easily readable for me, but the length of the book is discouraging. I love going on research. I must say the research gave me a break from the book, which reduced the boring nature of the book. I noticed no errors in this book, and I have no complaints enough to remove a star from this book, making me give this book a 5 out of 5 star rating. This book will be best suited for younger generations today. There are lots of things to learn from the life of Dr. Berrah. His lifestyle is worth imitating. I'm happy to learn more about history. This book is wonderful and well edited.
