Learning how to handle your money is an important step in planning for your own financial future. A knowledgeable financial advisor, named E. Alan Fleischauer, wrote Reconfigurement to provide significant tips often ignored by others. The author explains financial ideas to help people translate the old economic paradigm to the modern world. Given the fact that we all live longer, we need to come up with new concepts to think through the future of our money. Fleischauer offers practical information on how to achieve financial stability in the future.

The author of this article is a financial advisor who has been in this line of work for over twenty years and from this wealth of knowledge, explains something very basic and very important in our lives, the need for planning to retire. The author begins by addressing the most critical question on the value of planning before proceeding to give the steps to follow on planning. It introduces fundamental notions, approaches and terms but goes deeper into the techniques, describing the different tools existent to reconfigure one’s life, how to employ them and the strengths and weaknesses of each one.

In my opinion, the strength of the book is its universality. I have to also admit that all the information provided is very helpful and applicable no matter how young or old you are. Personally, I learned much, including an understanding of disability insurance and the types of disability insurance which I had no previous knowledge of. What is also profound about this book is that it contains statistics from reliable sources to back each argument to its conclusion. In this approach, the author presents factual evidence which enriches the study and gives the book more authority.

It is rather difficult to criticize this book at all. I also noted that the author uses some form of comedy at some point to break the monotony and it is pretty comprehensible. The vocabulary used in the book is very plain and I must commend the author for effectively engaging the reader’s interest in the book right from the first to the last chapter. There are a number of key takeaways in the book for everyone, even if retirement is not quite near. Such information is useful to get to know at the moment because it will be helpful later on in the future.

I'm rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I found no errors in the book. This quite clearly underlines the fact that much of it was well edited. Financial literacy literally means managing of money well, but it is something that schools fail to teach in most cases. People these days work hard and live long after they are through with work, thus the need to plan for retirement. Therefore, I recommend this book for finance students, resource to management consultants and to anyone planning on retirement.
