'Reconfigurement' by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book that will help you plan ahead in financial matters. Fleischauer states that the word reconfigurement means planning ahead. With over 20 years of experience as a financial advisor, the author guides the readers through complex financial concepts, simplifying them with humor and real-world examples. The book covers essential topics related to an individual's finances, like choosing an appropriate career, career re-evaluation, life insurance, investment strategies, and retirement savings, simultaneously promoting personal development.

Fleischauer starts off the book by explaining the basics of finances. He then progresses to how to choose a career that you will enjoy and what to do if you want to change career paths. Following this, the author skillfully explains complicated financial ideas like 401(k) plans, Roth IRAs, social security, stocks, bonds, wills, and trusts, making them easy to understand even for readers with no financial background.

My favorite part of this book is the constant integration of jokes and puns! This is what makes reading about finance a less dry subject. This is where Fleischauer not only deals with the financial implications for an individual but also inspires them to contemplate their personal life and interests. The end result of such holistic planning can be called not only a financial guide but also a handbook to recurring "What is success and what is happiness in each stage " of life.

There is nothing that I hate about the book, but there are a lot of jokes and puns throughout the book. Some readers might not like it, but I enjoyed every single joke. The editing team did a great job, as there were no typos or grammatical errors. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is focused more on the residents of the USA, but it has a universal aspect to it as it talks in general about how to plan for retirement and manage money. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in financial planning.
