Scale at Speed by Felix Velarde can be seen as a necessary tool for taking companies and business to higher levels of success. By applying his expertise on the topic and his own experiences in business, the author was able to convey with precision the intent of the book which I believe is to provide the steps required for scaling a company or business in order to achieve established goals. While focusing and expounding on a validated strategy used by many business owners to scale their companies known as the 2Y3X program, the author also provided insight into necessary methods and strategies leading up to the fulfillment of specific goals outlined by the company. I can appreciate the authors use of diagrams to make the concepts easier to follow and by making references to accredible sources such as authors who delve deeply into similar topics, Velarde succeeded at providing robust information. The author describes different strategies, such as having a plan or vision, setting and outlining realistic and goals that can be reached within achievable time frames and taking into consideration key players of a business such as staff members throughout the process of scaling the company and getting through achieving established these goals.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it provided practical steps that can be applied to ameliorating one’s business or company. The strategies and concept provided were comprehensible and very easy to follow. For this reason, along with the fact that there exist minimal errors, I am delighted to rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. There was no evidence of strong language, nor were there any obvious introductions of sensitive material to which one would need to exercise heavy precaution or discretion. Additionally, I would highly recommend this book to small business owners, persons seeking to scale their existing business or companies, entrepreneurs or anyone interested in starting their own business. I also recommend reading some of Velarde’s other books.
