Slang has become something we use without even realizing it. It has become a part of our daily lives, and we use it to successfully interact with both the elderly and the young. This book, We got the Vocab by Samson Noel, introduces many slangs that we use without realizing it. It explores the origins of several slang and how they were created. The book also delves into the definition of slang and how it is utilized in speech.

Overall, I believe this book will be quite useful to individuals who, like myself, struggle to understand the use and concept of slang. This book by Samson has helped me grasp some of the slangs my children use at home, as well as what they mean and how to use them correctly. The author also noted how social media has significantly influenced the use of slang in today's world. Social media services such as Facebook, Tiktok, and Instagram have helped spread the usage of slang over the world. The author also discussed the roles that celebrities play in the usage of slangs; if a celebrity uses a slang today, it might rise overnight and become quite famous. The author also noted how slangs are being added to dictionaries as a result of technological innovation. The inclusion of words like selfie and google in the dictionary demonstrates how far slangs have come. My fave slang phrase is "Fly," which implies "looking cool." One example is, "You look so fly, dear." This book is a useful tool to have on hand for persons who like using slang or who wish to expand their slang knowledge.

I give this book five out of five stars since I can't think of any negative thing to say about it. It was well-organized and easy to grasp. The ideas raised by the author were clear and concise. I detected no faults when reading this book, which was appropriately and completely edited. I recommend this book to everyone who appreciates using slang, as well as those who wish to understand what slang means and how it is used. It will greatly benefit them.
