Have you ever wondered what America would look like if Jesus' teachings informed public policy and politics? Dr. Robert Carter III ponders this question in his book, “The Bipartisan Jesus,” and seeks to provide a holistic view of a bipartisan approach to political issues based on Jesus' teachings.

Firstly, this is a book meant for Christians interested in politics. Dr. Carter draws extensively on biblical teachings and bible verses to support his arguments, which could be offensive to non-believers.

As a Christian, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I thought that Dr. Carter used a balanced approach to address how Jesus' teachings might inform bipartisan politics. The book has a calm and objective tone, which leaves the reader free to make judgments based on the information given.

There are numerous good arguments made in the book. For example, Dr. Carter argues that the judicial system should be guided by a focus on restoration and fair consequences rather than retribution. This would sound familiar to those aware of positive psychology and restorative justice. Therefore, Dr. Carter is not making groundless claims but is instead providing biblical support for current theories and beliefs.

I also found the book to be very well structured. The introduction provided a clear overview of the book and its overall structure. For example, the introduction included a summary of the Ten Commandments and their relevance to modern society. The following chapters then examined the Ten Commandments in greater depth. Each chapter also ended with a summary that helped to tie it together.

Overall, the book argues for a unified approach to politics in America, which is a timely reminder in the face of a highly polarised society. The book was exceptionally well edited, with no errors that I could find. There is also nothing that I would change about the book, so I am rating it five out of five.

The Bipartisan Jesus by Dr. Robert Carter III sounds like a thought-provoking read for Christians interested in exploring how Jesus’ teachings might influence modern politics. Dr. Carter’s use of biblical verses to argue for a bipartisan approach brings a unique perspective on aligning public policy with faith. However, readers should note that its biblical foundation may not resonate with everyone, especially those with different beliefs

I never thought there would come a day we would suggest using Christianity in politics and seeing this, I love it.

This sounds like quite a unique book. The mixing of Christianity and politics is interesting. While not a book I'd personally read, it does sound insightful.
