Essential Life Skills for Young Adults by Ronald D. Gaines was informative and extremely eye-opening for me. I rate this book a 5 out of 5.

A modern self-help book for an audience that might not read many self-help books; Essential Life Skills for Young Adults is perfect for anyone going through that transformative stage between the teenage years and adulthood. Sometimes it can seem like a confusing and challenging time in a young person’s life, but this book helps give the skills necessary for mastering true independence, success, and happiness. This book isn’t only for young adults though, anyone wanting to improve their well-being and the structure of their life would find this book to be a helpful guide. Included in the writing are some informative tips like how to boost your career, how to tackle everyday challenges, and how to secure your finances.

One of my favorite topics that Ronald D. Gaines talked about was effective communication because I believe that it’s something many young adults struggle with. Social media has severely damaged people’s communication skills, especially because there is so much hidden when communicating through social media: body language, tone of voice, and facial expressions can’t be expressed through instant messaging. The author not only explains the importance of healthy communication but also gives vital tips on how to express yourself through verbal and non-verbal communication.

The writing and editing in this book were impressive; I didn’t find any spelling or grammar mistakes. Everyone who worked on this project obviously put a great deal of time and effort into it because the book was incredible. I have no complaints or criticisms at all, I enjoyed everything about this read.

Overall, Essential Life Skills for Young Adults was informative and engaging. It fills the void that the educational system leaves by failing to teach young adults real-life skills. I would recommend this book to everyone not just young adults, and I’ll be holding onto it for a while so I can reference back to the helpful tips!

This sounds like such a useful book! As a teacher I do often think that we are not teaching life skills to our children/young adults. Thank you for your review!
