[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Little Effort, Big Inprovement" by T. R. Lazarus.]
Most fitness videos these days always depict fitness and exercise as very strenuous and somewhat of a chore. However, Tangee Renee Lazarus demonstrates in her book that comfort plays a crucial role in one's fitness journey. Little Efforts, Big Improvements: A Guide to Health and Wealth, as the subtitle implies, is a detailed and organized guide to achieving fitness and weight loss healthily and comfortably. Tangee addressed all the basics of fitness and gave lists, explanations, routines, and diets to achieve one’s goal of becoming fit.
I loved how comprehensive this book was. It followed a simple order to introduce the main topic of being fit. I love that this book was very relatable, and Tangee made sure the concepts were not entirely abstract. The way the media and influencers present their fitness journey may seem scary sometimes, but the author takes us through every step carefully while reminding us that it does not have to be that strenuous. I particularly enjoyed the part about keto diets because it cleared my confusion. There were times when I decided to dry fast and still hit the gym, and they took a toll on my body, but this book has shown me that I do not have to be everywhere at any time. From the examples presented, I have chosen my niche and focused solely on it.
The only flaw I can point out in this book is that its emphasis on comfort declined as the book continued. It is not a big deal, but seeing how the author kept talking about it at first, I thought it would be an occurring sub-topic throughout the book. This, however, does not take away from the great quality of this book. From how Tangee wrote, it is obvious that she is concerned and wants to help her readers. She includes multiple resources and includes references to her work. I found this to be very impressive.
This book's editing is flawless, and aside from the minor complaint above, there is nothing to dislike about it. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars for all these reasons. If you want to go on a fitness journey, use this book as your guide. There is a lot to be learned from it.
