Review of Spiritual Energy Explained
Spiritual Energy Explained: You, Your Soul, and the Universe is a book that discusses many aspects of energy and provides spiritual practices to reach your full spiritual awareness. Author Walter E. Broach discusses energy as something that cannot disappear but only be redirected. He argues that we are all made of energy that has existed for all eternity. By understanding our place and continued existence, we may be able to connect to others as well as find a deeper understanding of ourselves. The author provides “shadow work” recommendations, such as meditation, to learn from bad experiences and emotions and move on to find true happiness. He also discusses “spiritual exercises,” such as psychic readings and tarot cards, which may bring some clarity and peace to the reader.
I rate this book 3 out of 5. I consider myself a spiritual person, and I felt the author had some good arguments and explanations of how energy exists in the universe. He provided some techniques and best practices for individuals who are interested in expanding their spirituality, which I found to be helpful. I took off one star because there were many editing errors throughout the book, with a significant amount just in the introduction. I removed another star because the book mainly consisted of the author’s opinions. The author made some very definitive statements that cannot be proven. For example, while the author acknowledges bad things happening in the world, he makes statements about how happiness and honesty will prevail.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in spiritualism or who questions their place in the universe. I would not recommend this to any skeptics of religion or spiritualism unless they have an open mind. While the author does state that spiritualism is not the same as religion, he also makes statements about God and the energy created by Him.
