Ernestine Michels thoroughly explains how to manage emotions in Emotional Intelligence Simplified. There are ten chapters in this book that all focus on different aspects of emotional intelligence. Readers will learn how to communicate and manage conflicts effectively.

What I liked most about this book is that the author teaches you how to manage your emotions with family and coworkers. This book is filled with life skills to make you better aware of how to improve your daily life. You will learn how to control your reactions to uncontrollable situations.

There is nothing that I disliked about this book. The author did an excellent job of organizing concepts in every chapter. It is easy to read and very informative. I appreciate the list of references at the end of the book. It is filled with useful websites that support the content of this book. There are no grammar or spelling errors; this book is professionally written and edited.

Readers can use the table of contents to find specific topics of emotional intelligence and do not have to go through each chapter in order. I learned a lot about different techniques to regulate emotions and I plan to use the information about managing stress and anxiety with positive self-talk and meditation.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars because it is exceptionally well-written. I recommend this book to readers who want to understand their emotions, empathize with others’ reactions, and build strong communication skills. This book would be better suited for adults since there is a section about parenting and romantic relationships.

I do not recommend this book to readers not interested in learning about emotional intelligence because the entire book focuses on this topic. I do think that everyone can benefit from the information in this book. It will help people better understand themselves and each other.

I think understanding emotional regulation should be taught at a young age and continuously practiced into adulthood. It would help so many family relationships.

Controlling and managing one's emotions is a challenging thing and very few people are able to achieve that. From the review it appears that this is one of the best books in the subject and I would be going through it may be at a later date.
Thanks for a precise and nice review.
