God and Me by Lynette Harris Denton is a book consisting of short, daily reflections on scripture. This book uses scripture from the New King James version of the Bible. Each chapter begins with a brief quote from scripture, a suggestion of scripture to read, and a short reflection written by the author. The reflection is followed by a thought for the day and a brief prayer.

This is a wonderful book if you’re looking for something to reflect on daily. The scripture quotes are on point for each of the daily themes, and the reflections written by the author are very relatable. I particularly enjoyed reading the “Imagine That” reflection. This reflection reminded me to dream big and not place my limitations upon God. Some of the reflections dare you to rely more fully on God, and some of them task you with examining your own actions. All of them were thought-provoking in some way and inspired peace in me.

The thought for the day and the short prayer at the end of each chapter are simple, but sometimes the simplest of thoughts and prayers are the most powerful. The thought for the day is often just a sentence or two that is easy to remember and reflect back on throughout the day. The short prayer usually will connect the scripture passage and reflection in a clear entreaty to God. I found the prayers beautifully expressed the thoughts that were inspired by the reflections.

Overall, I would have to rate this book four out of five stars. The only thing keeping me from rating it five stars is the number of typos that I came across. I enjoyed reading and reflecting on all of the chapters. I would recommend this book to any Christian who is looking for something to guide them in daily prayer.

Based on the review, "God and Me" by Lynette Harris Denton seems to be a good read for Christians seeking daily reflections on scripture. The use of relevant scripture quotes and relatable reflections by the author make it thought-provoking and inspiring. The inclusion of a thought for the day and a short prayer at the end of each chapter adds a practical and meaningful touch. However, it is worth noting that there were some typos throughout the book. Overall, I would rate this book a solid four out of five stars. Atmospheric setting, felt like another character in the story.

“God and Me” by Lynette Harris Denton sounds like a thoughtful and peaceful daily reflection guide, offering a meaningful combination of scripture, relatable reflections, and simple prayers. The “Imagine That” reflection particularly stands out as something that resonates with the idea of dreaming big. However, the presence of typos seems to take away from its otherwise positive qualities. I think I’d still enjoy the book for daily inspiration, but the typos might keep me from fully diving into it. I might read it at some point.
