Jesus is Everything! by Walter Albritton is a religious motivation book. Walter, a priest, reviews his early life choices, how God has touched his and other people's lives, his experiences, and interesting discussions with famous people, such as authors. The book doesn't have a chronological order; its structure mostly relies on the importance of each subject. The chapters are also accompanied by Christian song lyrics and verses and their interpretation by other experienced priests or real-life proofs of their authenticity.

The author's strong faith shines through the pages, and his preaching is inspirational and powerful. I loved the heartwarming story behind the book's title. His preaching elements were also interesting, such as incorporating songs. They were courageous and easily memorable. Additionally, he provided suggestions for interesting reading material.

On the other hand, there were quite a few drawbacks in the book. First and foremost, I was overall disappointed with the book's content. I expected it to be fit for beginner Christians, but it is dedicated to the knowledgeable audience. Walter became a priest at a young age, and his path might be unrelatable for those in different circumstances. I'd like him to talk more about the struggles one overcomes when coming to Jesus; the book would be more valuable. Secondly, Walter continuously mentioned that one who preaches could be a he or she. I believe that, according to the Bible, one who preaches has to be a he, so, despite my respect towards him, it made me doubt his competence. I also found some of his dialogues with other people exaggerated, such as with Nancy Petrey. Moreover, Walter frequently mentioned that God was calling or talking to him. I would've appreciated it if it were specified whether it was through visions, dreams, or the author's inner feelings. I take it as an important detail, and the matter can be resolved with just one simple sentence. Lastly, a lot of the scriptures were written in archaic language, which made it difficult to understand. I think foreigners and beginners will have difficulty understanding them, and it's better to be replaced with modern English. I came across several errors in the book as well.

I rate the book 1 out of 5 stars. I deducted the points for the shallowness of stories, which makes the book unfitting for beginners, the inaccuracy of Biblical facts, the difficulty of the archaic language, and the errors. According to the positive aspects I have mentioned, the book has potential, and I'd love to see it developed to its full capabilities. Before then, there is quite a lot of work to be done.

I do believe that Jesus is everything, but can see how his approach may not be for everyone. There are some things here that I don’t agree with, too, but everyone has their own opinion. Thanks!
