[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Jesus Is EVERYTHING" by Walter Albritton Jr..]
Jesus is Everything by Walter Albritton Jr. is a Christian book for adults. The author advocates accepting that Jesus is everything so that people in the Christian community can constantly dance in the glory of God. The book will suit a Christian audience who wish to strengthen their faith and build a stronger relationship with Christ.
At 13, the author remembers the first pastor to make an impression on him. The pastor gave instructions to surrender to Jesus. Christianity is nothing without Christ. When you have Jesus in your heart, you have everything you need. In the author’s younger years, he yearned for the peace and calm he witnessed in others. Through life’s ups and downs and testimony from fellow Christians, the author realised God was with him. God sent his servants to him, acting as angels on earth, and when the temptation of sin came upon him, he heard the voice of Jesus redirecting him. The journey is strengthened by surrendering himself to Jesus, helping him to navigate loss, grief, and relationship turmoil, and accepting these challenging times as stepping stones, with Jesus giving him strength to look tragedy in the eye. With these blessings from God, you can become nourishment to others.
The author’s journey to surrendering fully to Christ is heartwarming. His unwavering faith supported the author and his family through unspeakable sadness, bolstered them, and enabled them to continue life dedicated to God. I found the examples of God being present inspiring. In the times when all seemed lost, servants of God provided comfort, help, and hope. These testimonials remind us that when we accept God, we are never alone. I enjoyed reading about how wayward people and sinners are welcome in God’s kingdom. I found it refreshing to read about such inclusivity in religion. Accepting Jesus into your life is simple and available to everyone, and the author states the rewards are bountiful. I particularly liked that the book is welcoming and understanding to all people.
I found the author’s life story fascinating. It is interesting to hear about his religious journey and how he coped with personal tragedies. The story is relatable and shows readers that time heals. I especially liked the discussion about the basement and balcony people. The author states that we should strive to affirm one another and raise each other’s spirits. Being a balcony person motivates those around us and has great possibilities for the world. A basement person is too concerned with dragging people down and lowering self-esteem. Being a blessing to others and nourishing them is a great gift, and we need both good and bad experiences to offer this, as experiencing life gives us knowledge. It was wonderful to read about individuals suffering through illness and disability healing others despite their pain.
The book is very well-edited. I loved reading about the author’s journey. He hasn’t been afraid to give his whole self in this book. I enjoyed the testimonies from various people about their relationships with Jesus and their evidence of God being with them. I liked the author’s passion for songs and hymns. He sings them with gusto and is unashamed to declare his faith and dedication to Christ. I appreciated the inclusivity, reminding us it is never too late to be a person of faith. I found nothing to dislike about the book, so I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
