Mary Lummerding's book, Kitchen Chaos to Culinary Bliss: Organize and Enjoy Cooking, is a comprehensive guide that provides valuable information about your kitchen. Chef Mary has written about a wide range of topics, including how to improve your cooking, buy kitchen supplies and tools, acquire ingredients for recipes, shop for groceries, devise cooking plans, and other similar topics that relate to activities done in the kitchen.

I selected this book mainly because I love cooking for myself, and I was really curious about what I would discover by reading this book. I could also relate to the author, as there are days when I don’t feel like cooking, and that’s when I eat out. I consider cooking one of the essential skills individuals can possess, given the profound impact of food on our daily lives. The author has written about some of the reasons why one would choose to prepare meals for themselves, and I am sure that all readers will resonate with her.

There are several aspects of this book that I really liked. First of all, the writing style is simple, making it very easy for all readers to comprehend. The book is also short, and the text has been properly spaced. This made it comfortable for me to read and finish the book in one sitting. I am now eager to try out some of the recipes that the author has provided at the end of the book.

I appreciate the author for including practical tips on some pages. Chef Mary has years of experience in the kitchen, and the tips she has provided are undoubtedly beneficial. While I agree with most of her suggestions regarding kitchen tools and supplies, I respectfully disagree with her endorsement of solid plastic boards, as they may potentially release microplastics into food; I prefer wooden boards for such purposes.

There is absolutely nothing that I disliked about this book. I have learned invaluable tips that I tend to integrate into my culinary practices. Furthermore, I did not find any grammatical errors and therefore believe that the book was thoroughly edited. It is fair for me to give this book a rating of five out of five stars, as I don’t have any reason to rate it lower. I recommend this book to people who have a fondness for cooking or those who would like to start preparing meals for themselves.

I need to learn how to organize and limit my spice shelves. I have way too many spices, some that I have used only once or have received as a gift. A list of essential spices, and recipes that use them, would help me. This book sounds great, as I love cooking.

I consider myself a pretty good cook, but I don’t enjoy it. I have had to develop these skills as my husband and I have been diagnosed with health problems that can be helped by a better diet. I am glad to see that you liked the book and most of its topics, though. Thanks!

Hello Gerry,
I also used to have way too many spices, which took up too much kitchen space. I decided to always give the spices to friends and family whenever I noticed that I was having them in plenty. Thanks for commenting!

Hi Amy,
It is true that most of our health problems can be caused or healed by what we eat. I am glad to know that you are improving your diet. Thanks for commenting!
