Kitchen Chaos to Culinary Bliss is an excellent book for anyone who wants to cook more but has no idea where to start. I have been cooking from scratch for years, but I enjoyed being reminded of the basics. The author’s enthusiasm was obvious. The book was fun to read, which isn’t something you would expect from a cooking book. This book goes through all of the basics that a beginner would need. It has you pay attention to why you want to cook, how to find the time, organize your kitchen, the tools you need, meal planning, grocery shopping, and more. Once the basics are done, the book gives a variety of recipes to try.

I have been cooking for a long time, and sometimes I find myself making things too complicated. A reminder to keep things simple was nice. I really enjoyed the spice and herb table. The tone of the book was so fun. It felt like I was reading my grandma’s notes when she taught me to cook. I like that the book was nicely balanced with information on how to cook and navigate the kitchen and recipes to get readers started.

There wasn’t much that I disliked about this book. It was clearly written for people who want to cook and are overwhelmed. For that audience, the author wrote it perfectly. I would have liked pictures for all of the recipes instead of just a few, but that is a personal preference since I am very visual.

The editing was excellent. I didn’t notice any errors. I also really liked the format. The paragraphs were a good length and separated with headers, photos, or tables.

I rate Kitchen Chaos to Culinary Bliss 5 out of 5 stars. If you are a beginner in the kitchen, this is a great book. If you are advanced in the kitchen, this is a fun read that will remind you to go back to the basics and make things simple again. I find myself needing that reminder when I make things too complicated and get overwhelmed.
