Empower Children Through Play Therapy by Deana Rush Davis is a comprehensive guide to successful play therapy. The book will appeal to parents, therapists, and caregivers who are invested in giving the best emotional support to children. Evidence-based practice is outlined to direct therapy to individual needs.

Play therapy is a psychotherapeutic approach for children to explore their lives and to express thoughts and emotions. Play therapy can provide transformative healing and empowerment to children with diverse backgrounds and abilities. A registered therapist creates a safe space for expression and learning. Play therapy differs from regular play because the therapy takes place in a controlled environment that enhances physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills. This therapy space is culturally inclusive and allows every child to express themselves. Toys, art supplies, games, and digital resources are the power tools of the therapy. These items provide a means of expression and communication. Strategies to meet therapeutic goals and case studies that show positive results are abundant throughout the pages.

The comprehensive guidance is invaluable for play therapists, caregivers, and parents. The step-by-step guide and therapy examples deliver expert advice to help harness the potential of any child. The book explains how to approach children with a variety of needs. I found it particularly interesting how a play therapist works with children with autism. Several methods are included to enhance communication and social skills in non-verbal children. Play therapy also has a role to play in children with trauma and behavioural issues. The use of sand-play can be instrumental in therapy success. This technique allows a child to project their innermost thoughts and feelings onto an inanimate object. The benefits of play therapy in the home are discussed. A weekly game night can be an opportunity to develop cognitive skills and team building. It is also a perfect opportunity for reflective discussions.

The practical advice for therapists is fantastic. Guidance for creating a safe space that is culturally inclusive is outlined. The importance of digital records and a commitment to self-care are emphasised. The author has given professionals great guidance and a marvellous introduction for aspiring therapists. I especially enjoyed reading the real-life case studies. These testimonies show the power play therapy has in healing and empowering children. Play therapy should not be underestimated, and this book advocates this skilled and nuanced profession.

The book is excellently edited. I loved the insight into play therapy, and readers will enjoy learning about its potential and benefits. The case studies demonstrate the power of skilled and thoughtful play therapists. I enjoyed learning about the different approaches to children with various challenges. I found nothing to dislike about the book. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

OK, I think this would be beneficial to anyone who would have the privilege to pick it up and read it. I agree, kids playing is therapeutic to them, and I am interested to find out what more the author has to say on this subject. Awesome job here.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’

"Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids" by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul is a children's book that explores themes of faith and spirituality through the imaginative journey of an eight-year-old girl named Emma. In the story, Emma awakens from a vivid dream where she ascends to heaven, experiencing its wonders firsthand. This narrative aims to introduce young readers to Christian concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
The book has received positive feedback for its simple and appropriate ., making it suitable for children. The narrative is described as intriguing, with a message that inspires children to love God, understand biblical teachings about salvation, and share their faith with others.
Additionally, the book's exceptional editing and narration have been praised, with reviewers noting the absence of errors, which enhances the reading experience for young audiences.
The illustrations play a significant role in capturing children's attention. The use of bright colors and detailed drawings, especially in depicting characters like Jesus and angels, helps maintain engagement and complements the storytelling. The authors' attention to detail in both writing and visual representation adds to the book's appeal as a bedtime story.
However, some reviewers have raised concerns about the book's content and suitability for its target audience. While the writing is skillful and the graphics are appropriate, the book's wordiness and the complexity of certain themes may be more suitable for older children or teenagers rather than younger kids. The inclusion of topics like proselytizing and descriptions of hell, which contain some gory details, might be intense for little kids, prompting the need for parents
Overall, "Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids" serves as a resource for introducing children to Christian beliefs about heaven and the importance of sharing one's faith. Its engaging narrative and vibrant illustrations make it a potential addition to a child's collection of bedtime stories. However, parents are advised to consider their child's maturity and sensitivity to certain themes when selecting this book
